LONDON
Date: Tuesday 22nd January 2019
Time: 8.00am
Venue: Guildhall, Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7HH
Join us for the Capital Club’s breakfast reception at the Guildhall. Kindly hosted by Chris Hayward, Chairman of the City of London Planning Committee, this will be an informal opportunity to network with other members of the Club and hear from the Leader of Southwark, Peter John OBE.
After eight years in the top job at Southwark, Cllr John is still “fizzing with ideas” to move his community forward and insists that his party’s programme is rooted in “old fashioned municipal socialism”. The regeneration of the Old Kent Road, will see around 20,000 new homes but Cllr John hopes it will also harbour social regeneration, including improved access to jobs and better public services.
In his role as Chair of London Council’s, Cllr John is a passionate advocate for London and works hard to deliver public service reform and further devolution, believing in the power of council’s to drive forward the local community.
The breakfast will be an excellent opportunity to hear more about Cllr John’s ambitions plans for Southwark and the wider London landscape.
Please contact Tristan Robinson at Tristan.Robinson@jbp.co.uk or 0203 267 0074 to join the Capital Club.
